Terms of Service
1. The service
Weave is an introduction service for communities. It uses AI to get to know members, suggest introductions, and, when both people agree, connect them. Communities are run by their own organizers, who decide who may join and what the community is for. By using Weave you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
2. Your account
You must be 18 or older. Keep your sign-in secure and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. You are responsible for what happens under it.
3. Your content and your data
What you tell Weave and put on your page is yours. You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store it, show it to the people the Privacy Policy describes, and use it to suggest introductions. We never sell it. You can export it or delete it at any time. You promise that what you share is yours to share and is truthful.
4. Being a decent member
Weave works because communities trust it. Don't misrepresent who you are; don't use Weave to harass, spam, stalk, or solicit people; don't use information you learn through Weave for anything other than the connection it was shared for; don't scrape, resell, or try to break the service; and don't use Weave as a general-purpose AI assistant. Weave will end a conversation, and we may suspend an account, when these are broken. Organizers may remove anyone from their community.
5. Introductions and AI
Weave's suggestions are made by AI from what people have said about themselves, and they can be wrong. An introduction is an invitation, not a guarantee of anything about the other person. Use your own judgment about whom to meet and what to share, exactly as you would at an event. Weave never speaks for you: an introduction only happens when both people say yes.
6. Email and messages
We send only the messages the service needs: introduction requests, confirmations, group invitations, and occasional reminders about things waiting for you. Everything can be done in the app without email.
Text messages (SMS)
Program name: Weave. What it is: if you choose to, Weave texts you when someone in your community would like an introduction, when an introduction is confirmed, when you are invited to a small group, the day before a gathering you are attending, and to ask whether the "right now" line on your profile is still true. On some plans the organizers of a community you belong to can also send an occasional short announcement to its members through Weave (a room change, "doors open at 6"); each announcement carries the community's name, and you can turn these off on their own under My profile → Texts while keeping everything else. You can reply to any text to talk to Weave; your replies become part of your conversation with Weave, the same as in the app.
How you opt in: only by entering your mobile number under My profile → Texts, agreeing to receive texts, and confirming a one-time code sent to that number. Texting is optional and never required to use Weave.
Message frequency varies with activity in your communities — typically a few texts around an introduction or an event, and none when nothing is waiting on you. Organizer announcements are limited to a few a week per community and are only sent during the day where the community is. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
To opt out, reply STOP to any text from Weave and you will receive a confirmation and no further texts; you can also remove your number under My profile → Texts. Reply START to opt back in. For help, reply HELP to any text, or contact us at connect@appliedalchemy.co.
Mobile numbers and opt-in data are used only to run this program; see the privacy policy. Supported carriers: all major US carriers. Texts are sent through Twilio.
7. Organizers
If you run a community on Weave, you're responsible for having the right to invite the people you invite, for the information you publish to them, and for using what Weave shows you about your community only to serve that community. If you email your members through Weave, or your plan lets you text them, those messages are yours: keep them to what the community would expect from you (logistics, announcements, thanks), never marketing for third parties, and never anything a carrier or mail provider would treat as spam. Replies to your emails come to you directly. Weave limits how many you can send and when, honours each member's own text and email settings, and may switch these off for a community that draws complaints.
8. What we own
Weave — its software, design, concept, name, logo, and the way it works — is the copyrighted work of Applied Alchemy, LLC. © 2026 Applied Alchemy, LLC. All rights reserved. You may use Weave as intended; you may not copy it, reverse-engineer it, or build a competing service from it.
9. As-is, and limits on our liability
Weave is early and improving. It is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent the law allows, Applied Alchemy is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for anything that happens between people who meet through Weave, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or $100 if you paid nothing.
10. Ending things
You can delete your account whenever you like. We can suspend or end accounts that break these terms, or stop offering Weave altogether, in which case we'll give you a reasonable chance to export your data.
11. Changes
We may update these terms as Weave grows. If a change matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Weave after that means you accept the new terms.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California. If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
